Since 2018, Maya Selva Cigars has been offering limited editions to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
This special blend pays tribute to the tradition of handmade cigars. The line's design combines traditional Chinese motifs with Mayan hieroglyphs. Just as in Chinese culture, the fauna of the ancient Mayan civilization plays an important role in their spiritual beliefs, symbolism, and iconography. The Maya believe that each of us is born with a "NAHUAL" or animal spirit that guides us throughout our lives.
The latest limited edition celebrates "18 Rabbit" (Uaxaclajuun Ub’aah K’awiil), the 13th ruler of Copan. Because of the number of buildings and monuments erected during his reign, he is considered the greatest patron of the arts in the history of Copan. The impressive quantity of sculptures commissioned by "18 Rabbit" is a remarkable achievement of the Classic Maya period. He reigned from 695 to 738.
The tobacco for the AÑO DEL CONEJO Corona-sized cigar is carefully selected from the famous Jamastrán Valley in Honduras. This medium-bodied blend offers aficionados pleasantly woody, earthy, and slightly nutty aromas.
