Quai d'Orsay No. 50
Quai d'Orsay No. 50
If you are not yet familiar with the Quai d'Orsay brand, its history dates back to around 1973. At that time, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, then Minister of Finance and future President of the French Republic, asked the State, which was in charge of the tobacco monopoly, why there was no French cigar. In response to this request, Cubatabaco instructed its master blender to create a new cigar that would bear the name Quai d'Orsay, named after the quay along the Seine where the tobacco office was located. This brand remains the only one entirely manufactured in Cuba at the request of another country.
This very lovely little robusto shows real potential: it offers good length on the palate and an authentic aromatic density. With a few adjustments, it will quickly be able to reach its full potential.
